Gothic:
Gothic art often refers to a style of tall, grand, and often slightly eerie architecture. Width, length, and proportion is what made this art form stand out, and soon triggered an era of interior and exterior building design. Giorgio Vasari was the historiographer who dubbed this style “dei Gotthi”, or Gothic. The royal abbey church of Saint-Denis and Beauvais are two examples of great Gothic architecture. (Heilbrunn)
